Do your prices include VAT ? TOP
All prices shown at the point at which you can order include VAT (and duty), but not delivery.
However whilst browsing the site (when the catalogue view shows labels) not all prices include VAT.
On items where the description
includes "ex-VAT" - VAT is added to the base price so that at the point of order a "UK VAT & duty paid" price is shown. On these items, VAT can be reclaimed and we can supply the goods free of VAT for export outside the E.C.
On items where the description
includes "VAT & duty paid" - VAT is included in the base price but is not reclaimable, as these goods are sold under a marginal VAT scheme. On these items, the base price is also the price for export
outside the E.C.
What are the payment options ? TOP
Please be assured that our website offers a fully secure card transaction capability, and that your card details are not retained on our server after completion of the transaction. We do recommend payment on the website as the fastest and easiest method. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Solo/Switch, Visa Debit and Electron cards, aswell as payment by PayPal.
If you are not comfortable with paying online, then please enter your order as normal and click on "Go To Payments". After entering your address details and clicking on "Continue" you come to payment options. Please select the "Cheque" option, click on "Continue" and leaving all the fields blank, click on "Order Now". We will call you to arrange payment by one of the following methods :
- Direct bank transfer. We will provide our account details to you, agree how the transfer should be identified, and then ship on receipt of the funds into our account.
- Personal cheque. We will ship your order ten working days after receipt of the cheque.
- By credit or debit card over the phone. If you provide us with your card details by phone we will carry out a "customer not present" terminal transaction, and will not retain your card details .
You can always of course place your order by email or telephone aswell.
What do you charge for DELIVERY ? TOP
UK DUTY PAID DELIVERIES
For a standard delivery - an untimed delivery between 3 and 5 working days after order - to a mainland U.K. address (excluding Scottish Highlands) we charge £9.40 + VAT - i.e. £11.05 including VAT. Standard delivery is free of charge for all orders of 6 bottles or more to mainland U.K. addresses. Please note that the charge is per delivery address, not per order. Please phone us to place orders for multiple delivery addresses.
Provided that you give us 3 working days notice, deliveries can also be arranged as follows:
- Specified day before 10am (working days only) for an additional charge of £21
- Specified day before 1pm (working days and Saturdays) for an additional charge of £12 (NOTE maximum of 6 bottles on this service).
IN BOND WINES
Prices for wines shown as IN BOND are for collection from EHD in West London. Transfers to another account at EHD are free of charge, whilst transfers to other bonded warehouses are charged at cost. All website orders for In Bond wines will be charged £25 for delivery, and when you confirm your order an authorisation for this amount will be taken from your card. We will confirm the actual cost to you before shipping and before taking payment.

WORLDWIDE DELIVERIES
For all other destinations we use Connoisseur International Distribution to ship by air, in polystyrene (styrofoam) packaging. Please call or email us for an up to date cost.
| | How long will my delivery take ? TOP
You should receive your wines within one week of placing the order with us.
We aim to despatch all orders within 2 working days. If this is not possible for any reason we will contact you within one working day of receiving your order to advise you of the delay and check whether you still want to place the order.
All orders are shipped by courier and will require a signature on delivery. If you are not in when the courier calls, they will leave a card with their contact details so that you can arrange a convenient date for re-delivery.
Do I need to be at home to receive the delivery ? TOP
Unless you request otherwise the courier has instructions to obtain a signature on delivery. This can be from anyone at the delivery address.
If you are unlikely to be at home and have somewhere safe to leave the wine, you can request delivery without signature during the checkout process.
Please use the Shopping Cart "Special Requests" box, before going to Payment. Enter "NO SIGNATURE" and details of a safe place where the courier is authorised to leave the wine.
PLEASE NOTE that if you select a "NO SIGNATURE" option, we do not accept any liability for the shipment after the courier has delivered it.
Can I return a delivery if I change my mind ? TOP
You can return goods you have ordered from us - provided that they are unopened and undamaged - for any reason at any time within 14 days of receipt for a full refund or exchange. See our Terms & Conditions for full details.
Why do you use a PO Box rather than a real address ? TOP
As the business grows we expect to need to move premises, so a PO Box address means that our website, stationery etc will not change.
Can I reclaim VAT on my purchases ? TOP
For different items, we operate both standard and marginal VAT schemes. This means that on some items we do not invoice separately for VAT, and that you cannot reclaim input VAT on purchases from us.
