HPB Note	********	Medium-full colour. Firm, meaty, sturdy, slightly gamey nose. Just a touch of truffle too. Smooth, supple and full in the mouth, yet with good freshness, Not the greatest finesse, but lovely balance and flavour profile. Super, long, finish again shows real freshness. A great success.
2009
Burghound	88-91	More obvious wood spice frames very ripe plum and cassis aromas that are borderline jammy in character. The big, robust and powerful flavors offer syrah-like richness and serious size and weight with a long, complex and sappy finish that is anything but typical. This is more in the vein of a fine pinot-based wine than a fine Burgundy. Note: a second barrel was much fresher and more typical so it will be interesting to see what the final blend is like.

The Vine	F	Fine colour. Full, concentrated nose. Not too Midi at all. Full and rich on the palate. Very good tannins. Exotic of course. But really quite civilised.
