#34588. 1991 - Ch de Pommard - Pommard - 75cl VAT & duty paid
The Chateau de Pommard produces a village Pommard that is quite unique. 1991 was a good vintage, and shows well the rustic but long-lived nature of the wine. This is the largest Monopole holding in Burgundy, being a single walled vineyard of 20 acres. It lies near the Clos des Epenaux, but downslope, nearly on the plain.

HPB Note
**
Bright pale ruby. A broad paler rim, but good density of colour. Just a touch of tawniness throughout. Slightly four-square, rustic nose - with nice red and black fruit and a touch of cocoa butter. Palate entry is quite full and smooth, though again with a rustic edge, herbal undertones and a good long finish. Not classy, but appetising, savoury and interesting.
