The red Corton from Bonneau du Martray is often overlooked because of the estate's more famous, and more abundant, white Corton-Charlemagne. The wine is however, a very stylish and typical red Corton, and the 1996 is now drinking well.

ABV 13.5 %           Fruit – R, Flavour – ES, Body – M

HPB Note
**

Medium ruby with a slight mahogany tinge. Nose is not big but is quite refined, with reticent plummy fruit, a touch of leafmould and earth. With a bit of air, the nose fills out with a nice cherry fruit on top. Mouth entry is pure and sweet, leading to a mid-palate with earthy cherry fruit and good acidity. Just medium bodied and with a good grip on a decent length finish.
