This is a truly remarkable Macon, from a domaine extant since monks planted it in 910 AD, as the label proudly bears testatment. The domaine has been farming organically since the 1950s and biodynamically since 1998.
This wine is a blend of organic parcels from Vire-Clesse, Chardonnay and Montbellet. It is bottled unfiltered after 18 months elevage without use of oak and unsurpsingly has great density and minerality. More suprisingly for a wine of this vintage it has a tremendously fresh, high-toned nose of lemon, apricot and white flowers. Highly recommended !
