A. Meadows, 2011
An attractive nose of dark cherry and kirsch is trimmed in soft hints of underbrush, freshly turned earth and toasty oak that continues onto the supple and relatively forward flavors that are supported by slightly riper tannins and fine length on the balanced finish. This is a lovely villages and the character of the old vines is clearly in evidence. 89/2015+ (Drink starting 2015)

J. Gilman, 2011
I have always been a big fan of the Champs Chenys bottling from Domaine Joseph Roty and the 2008 is another outstanding example in the making. The wine offers up a very classic blend of red and black cherries, grilled meat, coffee, a hint of bacon, a great base of complex soil tones, a nice touch of vanillin oak and a distinctive note of mustard seed in the upper register. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, tangy and ripely tannic, with a fine core of fruit, lovely focus and excellent length and grip on the classy finish. A fine, fine vintage for this consistently excellent Gevrey villages. (Drink between 2016-2040)

S. Tanzer, 2011
Good medium red. Spicy aromas of plum, crushed stone and menthol. Suppler and fruitier than the basic village wine, with blueberry and violet flavors nicely framed by an edge of peppery acidity. Good inner-palate lift serves to extend the finish. This will rely more on its acidity than its tannins for aging.
